The Asian Volleyball Confederation holds the Asian Cup Women's Volleyball Match, which takes place every two years to push the development and improve the standard of volleyball in Asia. Only the top eight teams in the last competition can take part in this year's meet. The cup began in 2008 and is considered one of the top three matches in Asia. It has played a significant part in popularizing women's volleyball in Asia and around the world.
