Beijing

Beer week

Eat Beat

The craft brewers in China's capital are friendly rivals indeed - never more so than this week, when they team up for Craft Beer Week, ongoing through Sunday. From now until Wednesday, each host brewery will have its own events, and on Wednesday launch a collaboration beer the group has dubbed the "Beijing Miracle", made with rare Comet hops procured from Germany. From Thursday through Sunday, beers from at least five visiting breweries from around China will be tapped at the six host breweries: Arrow Factory Brewing Company Taproom, Great Leap Brewing, Jing-A Brewing Company, Nbeer Craft Brewing Company, Panda Beer and Slow Boat Brewery Taproom. Best of all, on Friday and Saturday, all of the participating suds merchants will sell their beers for 35 yuan ($5.60) per pint, mimicking a "dispersed craft beer festival environment".
