Traveling around the world to taste many styles of food is costly both financially and in terms of time. But travelers to North China’s coastal city of Tianjin have the option of enjoying a food "safari".

The Westin Tianjin hotel, which rises above the historic and business districts of the city, is offering a "Safari" dining experience that allows guests to sample food and drinks in two restaurants and two bars over the course of one meal, with creative Chinese food, Italian favorites and tasty cocktails.

Guests can begin their evening with a martini in the lobby lounge, and then enjoy a cold tasting plate, soup and a hot tasting plate of seasonal food at Zenzes, the hotel’s Chinese restaurant.

They can then move to the Prego Italia restaurant to enjoy Italian specialties accompanied by wine, before completing their journey by sipping the popular Westin Mojito at Q bar.

"Four eclectic restaurants and bars offer numerous ways to unwind, connect with friends, and dine in style," said Ugur Lee Kanbur, general manager of The Westin Tianjin.

Kanbur, who is from Turkey, has worked for the Starwood brand around the world for more than 15 years. The cold tasting plate at Zenzes includes a special chocolate that mixes dark chocolate with millet.

Tofu is also mixed with cheese to make a healthy ice cream-style dessert. Kanbur was originally a food and beverage director in other hotels under the Starwood brand, so leads his team in developing interesting dishes using healthy foods as part of the hotel’s "eat well" awareness.

"During the journey, guests can find a list of super foods, such as tomatoes and dark chocolate, supplied by the hotel," Kanbur said.

"It is a very important initiative for us to supply a healthier lifestyle under the wellness program launched at the Westin brand around the world this year."
