"Even though the global economy is slowing down, and some brands are closing stores in China, this is not the case with Chanel. We are still seeing growth-in ready-to-wear, shoes, jewelry, etc, in the last 12 months. Business is still quite good here. We now have 11 boutiques on the Chinese mainland, and I believe there is still potential to expand.

"We would like to reinforce our commitment and attention to China by offering this unique gift (collection) to our Chinese customers, and underline the values of creativity, modernity and excellence on which the brand is based.

"This collection is very unique, special and quite energetic in terms of fashion.

"We are convinced that Chinese customers will love this collection because we believe it conveys what Chanel does, and that Chinese customers will find meaning in many of the products."
