Authorities in Guiding county, Guizhou province, are investigating a rafting service after it was reported as being sexually suggestive, the county's tourism department said Friday.

Earlier media reports said the Luobei River Rafting service had drawn criticism for alleged physical contact between female escorts and tourists.

The county said it had launched a joint investigation with public security, market regulation, and other departments, and that the findings would be released as soon as possible.

In a statement released Friday morning, the scenic spot said the service was not an official operation but the unilateral action of another company, and said it would pursue legal action. At 11:41 am, it announced that the rafting service would be suspended.
