Liang Yong'an, a liberal arts professor at Fudan University, shared his views on the strengths of young people and the mission they shoulder in modern times during a meeting at the 37th Beijing Book Fair, which ran from Thursday to Saturday.

With several best-selling and award-winning books under his belt on the topic, Liang has become an online celebrity for his insight and refreshing, thought-provoking opinions.

Although he is over 60, Liang has maintained a focus on youth. He says that society is undergoing structural changes and as a result, the younger generation faces a variety of anxieties and emotional turbulence.

"I hope to make young people's lives better through my own experiences, to show them that life holds more possibilities," he says.

Liang hopes that his books will provide "uplifting and virtuous" guidance, and help the young to write their own chapters by developing firm beliefs, innovative thinking, and taking action.
