E-town opens mobile government platform

Updated: 2016-01-04 14:16

Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, or E-town, recently opened its mobile government platform, where official documents can be read, examined and approved. The platform is expected to raise government efficiency and application development.

The platform “Beijing E-town” can be downloaded through QR code and resembles WeChat and QQ software. It features message and contact modules and enables group chat and public announcement. Officials said that the platform has gathered all personnel in E-town’s management committee and makes communications easier.

The app can handle memos, official documents, emails and meeting schedules, allowing personnel to do business away from the office and increase their efficiency.

An official said that platform was very convenient. It used to take him a lot of time before he could find the right person. Now, he only needs to ask in the chat group and the contact sheet helps him find everyone’s information in seconds.

Officials said that the platform will continue to be upgraded with more convenient functions to help raise government efficiency.
