巡视全覆盖 (xúnshì quánfùgài): Full-coverage inspections

China Daily | Updated: 2017-06-23 07:50

The 12th round of inspections conducted by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, China's top anti-graft body, has now completed its inspections of 15 universities nationwide. This means the final round of inspections during the term of the 18th Communist Party of China Central Committee and before the 19th CPC National Congress to be held in Beijing later this year has now been completed.

The CCDI has issued a statement pointing out the problems discovered during this round of full-coverage inspections, which covered Party organizations in provincial-level regions, central Party and government organs, major State-owned enterprises, central financial institutions and centrally administered universities.

The inspection work began in May 2013, and the inspection teams sent by the central authorities have discovered problems and dealt with corrupt low-ranking officials known as "flies" and high-ranking officials known as "tigers".

According to the CCDI, more than half of the investigations into corrupt senior officials were as a result of information uncovered by discipline inspectors since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012.

Su Rong, former vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the top political advisory body, and Huang Xingguo, former acting Party chief and mayor of Tianjin, were among the high-ranking officials dealt with according to the Party's discipline and national laws.
