POWERCHINA signs contract for photovoltaic solar power project

Updated: 2018-06-15

POWERCHINA, Thailand's B.Grimm Power Public Co Ltd, and Vietnam's Xuan Cau Co signed an Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) contract for a 420MWdc photovoltaic solar power project in Tay Ninh, Vietnam on June 14.

The project, with a total installed capacity of 420MW, will be developed by Xuan Cau and B.Grimm Power. POWERCHINA will help with fund-raising.

Upon completion, the project will be the largest solar power project in Vietnam and all of ASEAN. It will be constructed by a Chinese general contractor according to Chinese standards with Chinese money and equipment.

The project is POWERCHINA's largest overseas EPC photovoltaic solar power project, demonstrating the company's achievements in promoting the development of new energy in Vietnam and ASEAN.

Since tapping into the Vietnamese market in 2000, POWERCHINA has undertaken 56 projects with a total contract value exceeding $1.5 billion. The company has participated in over 60 percent of Vietnam's power projects, including SonLa Hydropower Plant and the Trung Son Hydropower Project, which both garnered acclaim from local governments and project owners.
