Pingnan county in Ningde city, Fujian province, plans to launch folk performances by the She ethnic group to promote its cultural tourism.
The project, mainly performed by the Ningde She singing and dance troupe, will be themed on a musical show — "blessed She ethnic group", which features the special elements of Baishuiyang, namely water and bridges. The performances will show off the ethnic group's customs, scenery and regional culture with digital images, audio-visual multimedia, and 3D digital simulation techniques.
The performances will be staged in Pingnan's culture and sports hall, which will be surrounded by a set of supporting facilities such as sightseeing, entertainment, eating and shopping. Tourists can enjoy cultural heritage folk performances, such as a dragon dance, iron dance and Kungfu. Many games will be available, including bridge building blocks. Tourists will be treated to special food such as roasted rice with rabbit meat, taro noodles and yellow wine. Eastern Fujian's tourism products will also be available, including tea, silverware and paper-cuts.
The program is expected to lay the foundations in 2014, expand the market in 2015 and standardize management in 2016. In the early phase, some free tickets will be offered by telephone reservation and QR code scanning.
