Fujian Gengmao Group set up the Gengmao Foundation with 6 million yuan ($ 976,550) in August, 2010. It aims to fund poor college students, families and elder people with incremental benefits.

Ni Liqin, a freshman of Minnan University of Science and Technology, comes from a poor 4-member family, which is supported by her father. Gengmao Foundation subsidized her with 3,000 yuan ($490) to start her university life.

The foundation has contributed 2.6 million yuan ($423,200) to help 30 families, 200 college students and 600 people over 60 years old.
