The Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council recently selected Ludi village in Pingnan county as a demonstration village for its outstanding work concerning overseas Chinese affairs in 2013.

The office is responsible for liaising with Chinese nationals residing overseas or who have returned to China.

In recent years, the authorities responsible for overseas Chinese affairs in Ningde have aimed to improve living conditions for those who remain in villages which many have left to settle overseas.

Ludi is the second village in Ningde to receive the honor, following Huaqiao New Village which received the title in 2012.
