Fujian’s ecology ranks first in China

Fujian’s ecology ranks first in China, according to two reports recently released by Sichuan University based on the study of all Chinese mainland provinces and capital cities, Fujian Daily reported.

The studies found that Fujian’s ecology is the best of all the provinces, and Fuzhou ranks 5th in the category for capital cities. Fujian is the 5th in the overall rankings, and Fuzhou is the 9th.

In addition, Fujian ranks 7th in social development. It is the second time that Sichuan University has released this series of reports - following the first one, released in 2012.

Professor Sun Shangwei, who headed the group of experts who compiled the reports, said that they added new criteria - including environmental protection, ecological civilization and quality of life.
