Wonton seller doesn't hike prices for decades

An 88-year-old woman in Central China has insisted on selling 10 wontons for one yuan ($0.14) for more than 10 years, prompting Chinese netizens to think again in the age of materialism.

Wan Shujun used to sell wontons on a street in Changsha city, Central China's Hunan province. Due to the rise in the price of meat, the old woman earns a net profit of two yuan after selling 100 wontons.

Asked about why she insists on not increasing the price, Wan said: “I don't have difficulty in life, and I feel very happy if the customers are pleased with my wontons."

The woman's story got 163,974 likes and 24,511 comments after being posted on the People's Daily Sina Weibo account.

An internet user said: “Thank you, what you paid far exceeds what you earned." And the comment got 11,458 supports. Another netizen said that sometimes one's greatness will beat your expectations.
