To warm up for the 10th China Arts Festival, more than 50 shows performed by foreign singers and dancers will be staged in cities across Shandong, according to a senior official from the provincial department of culture.

Li Guolin, deputy head of the department said the shows will feature performers from countries including Russia, Spain, France, Canada and India.

The Music of Life performed by the Young Ambassadors Song and Dance Troupe of Brigham Young University is scheduled to be staged on May 7 in Jinan, the capital of Shandong.

The show depicts scenes from life’s most significant moments to the accompaniment of some classics by well-known composers such as George and Ira Gershwin, as well as Rogers and Hammerstein.

Tickets for The Music of Life will cost from 50 yuan ($8) to 380 yuan, according to Liu.

Other shows include Mamma Mia, a performance by the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire and the opera Carmen. Liu said that the dates for the performances will be released as soon as possible.

The 10th Arts Festival will be held in October.
