How mountainous villages in China climbed out of poverty

Dong Liuzhao is the Party chief of Handaogou village, Wuxiang county, Changzhi, Shanxi province.

In the past few years, he has guided villagers to grow plums and apricots, developed the local poultry industry and improved living conditions in the village. In 2018, local per-capita income was more than 4,500 yuan ($654.5) and the village was lifted out of poverty.
