Brazil tames China in women's volleyball event

LONDON - After two straight-set losses, defending champion Brazil rebounded to beat China 3-2 in women's volleyball event of the London Olympics on Friday.

Brazil, win the match 25-16, 20-25, 25-18, 29-31, 15-10 with the stunning performance of Thaisa Menezes, Jaqueline Carvalho and Sheilla Castero.

China will take on South Korea in the last match of the preliminaries, while Brazil will face Serbia.

Besides Serbia, China will play in the same pool in London along with defending champion Brazil, world's No.1 US, Turkey and South Korea. Italy, Russia, Japan, Algeria, the Dominican Republic and host Britain make up the other six-team pool. The top four teams to emerge out of each pool will play the quarterfinals.
