Savoring seasonal tea

A cultural event hosted by Beijing's suburban Badachu Park celebrated that the best time has come to drink Mingqian tea, which refers to tea leaves picked before the Qingming Festival in southern China. Students from Peking University Elementary School, Shijingshan, who dressed in traditional Chinese costumes, obtained water from an ancient well that has a history of more than 300 years and then made Mingqian green tea for visitors in the park in a beautiful tea-making ceremony. In ancient times, it was fashionable for the noble and the rich to drink tea made with water from ancient wells in the park, which are now protected as culture heritage.
