Bella Vita restaurants in Shanghai and Tiajin have made a weekend of Women's Day, with a special menu continuing through Tuesday night. The "beauty set meal" serves three to four people for 499 yuan ($76), including steamed mussels, calamari pasta, grilled New Zealand beef tenderloin and strawberry cake.

Who knew it was British Pie Week? Pie Society, of course, which is celebrating with no less than 12 pastry delights to sink your teeth into. To wrap up the week, the team at Pie Society is going all out on Sunday. Order any pie meal and you'll get a free Brewdog (Punk IPA or lager) or cider (from Cider Republic) on tap. Free chips and gravy available on the hour every hour from noon-3 pm. Good tunes and outside seating too.

Too Cool tea

Celebrate Women's Day all month at Conrad Beijing, where the hotel has teamed up with trendy Korean cosmetics brand Too Cool For School to create a special high tea in the Lobby Lounge. Beautifully crafted rose cupcakes and decadent foie gras scones are served up alongside other delicious sweets and savories with your choice of pink rose wine or a Virgin cocktail. Every Saturday and Sunday, five guests will be entitled to a cosmetics gift package from the Korean brand. 208 yuan plus 15 percent service charge, includes a cup of coffee or tea.

Cakebread wine dinner

Bruce Cakebread, president of the eponymous California winery and the president of the Napa Valley Vintner's Association, will introduce his wines to diners at a pairing dinner at Morton's Beijing on March 22. The four-course dinner includes a chilled seafood platter, grilled petit lamb chop, center-cut filet mignon with pan-fried foie gras and a chocolate trio dessert, each paired with a Cakebread vintage. The 2012 Dancing Bear will be a special treat: We're told only about 100 bottles get to China every year. 888 yuan plus 15 percent service charge.
