Crowne Plaza Beijing Sun Palace will hold its second annual Munich Oktoberfest in the coming week to entertain partygoers with popular German beers and songs, as well as the best German food and international delicacies, such as pork knuckle, roasted pork and stews. The seven-person German band Muenchner Musikanten will liven up the nights with vibrant music. Tickets are available for Friday and Sept 12 and 13 for 458 yuan ($72) per person.

Seafood on show

Expect more good seafood in China after next week, when over 100 exhibitors from dozens of countries will offer high-value fish and shellfish at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center during this year's Seafood Exposition Asia. The show, which runs Sept 8-10, attracts professionals from food services, hotels, catering, importers, exporters, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and manufacturing and processing companies, organizers say.

During the month of September, delectable strawberry and chocolate treats will be served at Cafe 103 on weekdays, with a more dazzling spread of tea-buffet items on weekends. Symbolizing romance and affection, the classic pairing of strawberry and chocolate executed by executive pastry chef Richard Long includes Strawberry Choux, a puff filled with a rich layer of ivory-white chocolate cream and fresh strawberry dices for a balanced flavor, and Strawberry Basil Pave, a creamy yet light cake with a hint of mint. HK$368 ($47) for one and HK$598 for two.
