A new multiple-unit electric train, delivered from Changchun, Jilin province, arrived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Tuesday, said its producer.
The train, a new model produced by CNR Changchun Railway Vehicles Co, has four carriages per set and can travel at a maximum speed of 100 km per hour.
CNR Changchun said the train will serve the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup soccer tournament to ease traffic pressure from June 12 to July 13.
It will connect the main stadium with other areas of the city, the company said.
The maximum passenger load for an EMU train is 1,300 people, it said.
Another 59 EMU trains will be delivered to the country soon, said CNR Changchun.
