A woman has been detained by police in Wuhan, Hubei province, for spreading false information that dozens of knives allegedly used in the Kunming terrorist attack were found in a local park, Changjiang Times reported.
After confirming that the online information was fabricated, local police detained the suspect surnamed Zhang, who later confessed she made up the rumor and regretted her behavior.
Zhang will be detained for 10 days, starting Wednesday.
