The northeastern coastal city of Dalian, Liaoning province, plans to plant 120 million trees this year to make the city greener, according to Dalian Forestry Bureau.
The trees will be planted along highways and rivers, on barren hills, near mines and in downtown areas.
The city government will provide 1.6 million yuan ($260,370) to subsidize key afforestation projects, Dalian Daily reported on Wednesday.
