A father in Zhejiang province spent one month making an Iron Man costume, wowing not only his son, whom he made the outfit with, but thousands of others when photos of the father, dressed as Iron Man, and his proud son went viral on the Internet, Metro Express reported.

Huang Chu, the 34-year-old father who runs a clinic in Yueqing, Zhejiang province, said he set out to make the costume so as to spend more time with his son.

As a father, he said, he always feels guilty for being busy at work and having little time with his son, who is now 6 years old.

"I don't really have any days off since I run the clinic by myself and usually return home after 7:30 in the evening," Huang said. "Reading bedtime stories for my son at night seemed to be the only time we spent together."

In November 2013, Huang noticed the character of the Iron Man was extremely popular with young people since the American movie The Iron Man screened in China. He also observed that the costume the character wears became a hot seller online. Huang's 6-year-old son was also fascinated by the character.

"That's when I had the idea that I could make an Iron Man costume myself," he said. "That way, my boy and I can spend more time together during the whole making process."

The boy was thrilled. The pair spent hours together in the evening making the clothes, which took a month of work and cost only 300 yuan ($50). The costume is about 1.8 meters in height, and painted gold. Huang also added some Chinese elements to the costume, including a Chinese flag on the chest and a yin and yang diagram on the palm.

The boy proudly showed the photo of his father wearing the costume to his classmates at kindergarten, and invited the other children to his house to try the outfit.

"He was patiently by my side during the whole process," the father said, with a wide smile.
