SINGAPORE - Singapore "strongly condemns" the violent attacks in China's Kunming train station happened on Saturday night, the city-state's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Monday.

"Such attacks on innocent civilians cannot be condoned or justified under any circumstances. We express our deepest condolences to the victims and their families and wish those injured a quick recovery," the ministry said in a statement.

A group of knife-wielding assailants killed 29 civilians and injured another 143 late Saturday at the railway station of Kunming, capital of Yunnan province.

The terrorist attack was planned and organized by separatist elements from Xinjiang and this incident was the most cruel atrocity, a Chinese spokesman said on Sunday.

A lot of countries and international organizations also expressed their sympathy to Kunming terror attack victims.
