7-year-old survives 11-story fall

A 7-year-old girl survived a fall from a residential building's 11th story in Taizhou, Jiangsu province, Modern Express reported.

The incident occurred in a community in the city's Jiangyan district on Thursday morning. The girl fell accidentally as her parents were discussing interior-decorating matters with workers inside their newly purchased apartment.

The girl was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors examined her said her injuries would not be fatal.

The father, surnamed Liu, said his daughter survived thanks to the continuous rainfall of recent days, which helped make the lawn softer than usual, and by tree branches that slowed the girl's descent before she struck the ground.
