Poetic justice as drug suspect caught

chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2013-08-09 16:45

A poem from a suspected drug dealer offered clues to police in Xuzhou, Jiangsu province, who uncovered a drug gang, arrested 95 suspects and seized 2.3 kilograms of drugs, Modern Express reported on Aug 9.

Police sources said that they got information about the gang earlier this year. On March 30, the head of the gang, surnamed Lian, a city resident, took a long-distance bus from Shenzhen with drugs and sent a poem on his mobile phone to give his arrival details.

The poem was written in acrostic fashion where the beginning of each line can contain a clue.

The first Chinese character of the first four sentences said "receive me at Magou (an expressway service area)".

Police got the message and caught Lian with more than 2 kilograms of methamphetamines.
