BELGRADE -- Serbian Minister for Science, Education and Technological Development Zarko Obradovic said on Friday that Serbia will have more fruitful cooperation with China in science in years to come.

"Since the SciTech park Zvezdara is finished I think it has all the preconditions to be the first location of this new scientific cooperation between Peoples Republic of China and Serbia," Obradovic told Xinhua.

"During my recent visit to Beijing and meeting with my counterpart Wan Gang, while discussing potential for cooperation in department of science, he presented me with very indicative information - that Scientific technology parks create some 12.5 percent of Chinese GDP," said Obradovic.

"We are in the process of building four SciTech Parks in Serbia and I have proposed to my Chinese counterpart Mr Wang that Chinese companies and institutions take part in their development, and he agreed,"said Obradovic.

Serbian plans to have more exchange with China in the fields of IT, agriculture, biomedicine research, and environmental protection. Efforts are being made to set up a joint Chinese-Serbian scientific research center.
