Chongqing honors community worker killed during landslide evacuation

Gong Baodong, a community worker who died while helping residents evacuate during a landslide in Chongqing, has been posthumously recognized as a martyr, the Chongqing municipal government said in a statement published on its website on Friday.
Gong was killed while organizing the evacuation of residents after a landslide struck the Pengshui Miao and Tujia autonomous county, Chongqing, on July 17.
The Chongqing government said the circumstances of his death met the criteria set out in China's regulations on honoring martyrs.
