No deaths reported after severe flooding in Yangxin, Hubei province

More than 1,000 residents have been evacuated following torrential rains that caused flooding in Longgang town of Yangxin county, Hubei province, from late Monday to Tuesday. No casualties have been reported.
The Longgang River rose by 4.62 meters in one day, reaching a record high of 29.49 meters on Tuesday evening. Peak flow was recorded at 785 cubic meters per second, according to local hydrological data. The water levels were compounded by floodwaters from upstream areas in neighboring Jiangxi province and parts of Hubei.
