No deaths reported after severe flooding in Yangxin, Hubei province

The flooding inundated low-lying streets, shops, and homes, with water reaching an average depth of about one meter in some areas and up to two meters at its deepest. About 9,600 residents were affected, along with more than 800 buildings and thousands of mu of farmland.
Local authorities said 1,150 people had been evacuated and 2,126 had received emergency living assistance as of Wednesday morning.
Rescue work began before the worst of the flooding. Lenin Primary School , located in a low-lying area, released more than 1,000 teachers and pupils early on Tuesday morning, according to Huangshi Daily, a local media outlet.
