By Wednesday afternoon, most floodwater in the town had receded, and work had shifted to clean-up, disinfection, repairs, and relief distribution. Local officials said the next steps include pumping out remaining water, repairing roads, bridges, power, and water systems, clearing river channels, supporting farmers to resume production, and improving early-warning and evacuation plans.
