China denies allegations of training Russian troops for Ukraine conflict
A Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman on Thursday refuted claims that China had trained Russian military personnel for combat operations in Ukraine.
Zhang Xiaogang, spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense, dismissed the allegations as "pure slander and an attempt to smear China" at a regular press conference.
The EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, recently claimed that the EU had verified reports that the Chinese military trained Russian soldiers to fight in Ukraine.
In response, Zhang emphasized that China's position on the Ukraine crisis remains consistent, clear, and impartial. He noted that the cooperation between China and Russia neither targets any third party nor is subject to external influence.
