Capitol Records forays into China

Continuing its expansion in China, Universal Music Group has recently launched Capitol Records China as a new frontline label to focus on signing and developing Chinese music talent, as well as setting up a new standalone international division.

The move marks Capitol Records - an iconic label known for some of the world's most popular bands and artists such as The Beatles, The Beach Boys and Paul McCartney - has forayed into Asia for the first time in the past eight decades.

Capitol Records China will look to build on the rich legacy of this legendary label and establish itself as a home for Chinese music talent and culture in the future, according to Universal Music Group.
