The film has so far received 7.4 points out of 10 on Douban.com, the country's major TV and film review platform.
"The way the director links the multiple storylines is little far-fetched, but the images of the young people in the movie really did stir my heart," one netizen says.
As for Huang's performance, Chinese director Lu Chuan says: "He is innocent, genuine and honest in the film. I think it is his best performance so far."
Huang says: "We need such a movie to calm our minds in this fast-paced world filled with various temptations. That's why I like this work."
