The 2026 Chengdu International Sister Cities Youth Music Festival was held from Friday evening to Sunday in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, bringing together 22 international art troupes across 16 countries and regions.

Young musicians from Germany, the United States, Russia, Italy, Australia, Thailand, and other countries performed on the main stage at Eastern Suburb Memory Park and seven sub-venues across the city, extending the event to landmarks, historic towns, concert halls, and outdoor public spaces.

The festival also featured a music-themed bazaar blending food, creative products, crafts, pet supplies, a sister-city multimedia exhibition, and intangible cultural heritage experiences, according to the organizers.

The international musicians also visited Chengdu's commercial and cultural landmarks to explore its traditions, creativity, fashion, and trendy culture, discovering a city where the old and the new live side by side, the organizers said.

First held in 2007, the annual event has drawn more than 4,000 young performers from nearly 50 countries and regions.
