Younger voters have warmed to the Labour Party manifesto and its socialist agenda, but unless they overturn a historic reluctance to vote in the same numbers as the over-30s, the opinion polls are likely to be correct.

Former Conservative Party Treasurer Lord Ashcroft, who has conducted a private survey in past elections which has proved accurate, said May will end the day with a 45 seat majority, an improvement on the 17 seats advantage she holds at present.

The country's bookmakers showed May as the favorite to remain prime minister, with odds of 4-1, which means a punter would have to lay out four pounds to win 1 pound. Corbyn was quoted at 5-2, worse odds than May.
