Fashion companies head to China
British fashion companies will be in China for the LINKINGplus Fashion Event on Monday and Tuesday. The newly created expo is aimed at opening direct opportunities for overseas apparel companies, and ensuring they can meet their Chinese counterparts. It is being hosted by the China National Garment Association, the sector's leading organization, and runs alongside Xiamen Fashion Week, which started on Saturday. The expo is at the Xiamen International Conference Centre.
Institute celebrates 10th birthday
The Confucius Institute at The University of Manchester is celebrating its 10th anniversary on Tuesday with musical performances and a debate about the role of the media in shaping perceptions of modern China and its history. The debate will feature Michael Wood, the professor of public history at Manchester who is a well-known broadcaster. This year, he presented the TV documentary series The Story of China. The event will take place at Whitworth Hall, Oxford Road, Manchester.
Scholars get chance to build China network
King's College London is presenting Global Careers Series-China on Tuesday. The series, which turns its attention to different countries and regions each week, is an initiative involving five international colleges within the University of London and supports students wanting to pursue an international career. The event is aimed at students and recent graduates and helps them network with like-minded individuals and industry professionals and learn more about working in China. The session is set for the B5 Auditorium in the Franklin-Wilkins Building on Stamford Street, London.
