As it turns out, playing the role of a brainless marionette is not at all bad, not when your limbs are being stretched and lifted by the therapists at the Chi Spa, Jing’an Shangri-La.

The new Wushu Body Wisdom Massage treatment was uniquely created by the Shangri-La, the luxury hotel group that has its roots in Hong Kong, the hometown of kungfu masters like Bruce Lee. And it incorporates modern massage techniques.

While it takes years of training to enjoy the benefits of kungfu or taichi, known for the unparalleled level of flexibility they bestow on practitioners, this treatment offers something of a shortcut as the masseur will get you supple and stretched out in no time.

Guests can choose either a 60-minute (780 yuan) or 90-minute massage (1,080 yuan). Both are subject to a 15-percent service charge.

Address: 4F, Jing’an Shangri-La, 1218 Yan’an Road M, Jing’an district (延安中路1218号静安香格里拉酒店4层)
