I am not an actress

5. chinadaily.com.cn: You do not often speak in your videos, why is that?

Ms Yeah: I am not an actress, and I am not here to act. By not speaking, I hope my viewers will be able to focus more on the DIY aspect of the videos, and the way I execute my recipes. Also, the setting for my videos is an office!

6. chinadaily.com.cn: What message would you like to send to young viewers?

Ms Yeah: My videos represent the things that young people want to do, but are unable to. Right now, the pressure to do a white-collar job is on, and food is one way to relieve that pressure. Our videos aim to make people laugh, and I hope that when everyone watches our videos, they'll be able to be happy and see the often-ridiculous side of life.

7. chinadaily.com.cn: What's the process of producing a video?

Ms Yeah: An entire video usually takes about a week. Half a day for brainstorming ideas and another half day for scripting. Then, I need an afternoon to purchase my ingredients. We shoot for one to two days, working about four to five hours each day.

Most scenes happen in the office and we only film on a mobile phone. My colleague tirelessly runs around, helping me shoot.
