The opening ceremony of 2018 ASEAN "the Belt and Road" Tourism Culture Exchange Week kicked off on Sept 26 in Guiyang, Guizhou's capital, attracting more than 300 delegates from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations' governments, embassies and consulates in China, business insiders from tourism and cultural enterprises and experts from international organizations.
Millions of visitors flocked to Southwest China's scenic Guiyang during this year's weeklong National Day holiday at the start of October, according to official.
ASEAN's 2018 "the Belt and Road" Tourism Culture Exchange Week has provided opportunities for Guiyang to deepen cooperation with Southeast Asian states, said Chen Yan, mayor of Guiyang.

An important delegation of officials from Fujian led by Yu Weiguo, Party secretary of the province, began a landmark four-day visit to Hong Kong and Macao on Oct 7 with the theme of "New Era, New Journey and New Development".
Fujian province, on China's southeast coast, has become a popular tourism destination for teenagers from Hong Kong and Macao who are keen on travel and study, according to the province's tourism development committee.
GDP: In 2017, Fujian's GDP reached some 3.23 trillion yuan ($467 billion), up 8.1 percent year-on-year. Its GDP per capita was 83,000 yuan, ranking it sixth in China. In the first half of this year, the province maintained stable economic growth, with its GDP and fixed assets investments increasing 8.2 percent and 13.4 percent, respectively.
Guangzhou-based GAC Motor, a subsidiary of GAC Group, made its European debut at this year's Paris Motor Show in early October as part of its effort to break into the European market.
Customer satisfaction and quality control have been key to the success of GAC Motor as it seeks to provide the best in design, components, manufacturing and service.
Further opening-up is necessary for Fujian to continue successfully down the path of promoting its dynamic development, according to leading local officials, businesspeople and analysts.
Fujian province has played an exemplary role in promoting the reforms of local State-owned enterprises by cutting red tape and improving efficiency, as part of its efforts to boost high-quality development.
Fujian should consolidate its recent achievements and continue to deepen its reform and openingup initiatives in the years to come, according to a provincial Party committee conference held in July.
