China's continued opening-up of its economy will help it become a good role model for other countries, as globalization is under threat from protectionist forces in other parts of the world, said Rana Mitter, director of the University of Oxford China Center.
China's biggest achievement in recent years has been its ability to maintain GDP growth despite adverse external developments and domestic challenges, said Jim O'Neill, the economist who coined the acronym BRIC.
What do you think about the current influence of China in the world?
The China Executive Leadership Academy in Yan'an, Shaanxi province - the scene of some of the Communist Party of China's earliest revolutionary activities - offers officials "red" education to reinforce their loyalty to the Party, and improve and strengthen the spirit of cadres to ensure good governance.
Although I joined the Party two decades ago, this was my first trip to Yan'an and my first systematic study of the Party, including history, spirit and theory.
