BEIJING - Ten suspects are under investigation for their liability in a deadly construction site accident in eastern China's Jiangxi province, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said Monday.

Among the ten people under investigation, nine are suspected of "serious dereliction of duty," while one is suspected of "offering bribes," according to an SPP statement.

A platform for a cooling tower in a power plant collapsed in Fengcheng city on November 24, leaving 74 dead.

Construction of the cooling tower was part of the expansion of Fengcheng Power Plant, which is owned by Jiangxi Ganneng. The tower was being built by Hebei Yineng Tower Engineering.

Among those investigated are the expansion project's construction director Deng Yongchao, its chief construction quality supervisor Yang Feiyun, and Zhang Zhixiang, head of the electrical safety supervision office of a local bureau under the National Energy Administration.
