2. Research and development

China has strived to promote the extensive application of big data, cloud computing and the Internet of Things. Moves are being made to transform China into a manufacturer of advanced and quality products and a country that is strong on intellectual property rights. China's investment in research and development is expected to reach 2.5 percent of GDP, and the contribution of scientific and technological advances toward economic growth should come to reach 60 percent.

The best examples are the AG600, the world's largest massive amphibious aircraft by far, that rolled off a production line in the southern city of Zhuhai on Saturday, as well as Chinese heavy transport aircraft the Y-20 and China's first large passenger aircraft, the C919.
