Visitors to the Summer Palace in Beijing have been given one more day to see the giant rubber duck, the work of Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman.

The duck's appearance was due to end on Oct 26 but organizers have postponed it to Oct 27 because the duck had to be deflated on Thursday last week when strong winds swept through Beijing.

Organizers said on Tuesday that a series of countdown events will be held to say farewell to the duck.

The appearance of the 18-meter-high duck has attracted thousands of visitors to the Summer Palace, with 130,000 recorded on Oct 2 during the National Day holiday, a record-high so far this year.

The duck made its debut in Beijing from Sept 6 to Sept 23 at Garden Expo Park.
