The country's top anti-corruption agency plans to develop an anti-graft app for smartphones, a spokesman said on Thursday.

The move is aimed to help the public and government officials access the anti-corruption agency more conveniently, said Cui Shaopeng, secretary-general and spokesman for the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China.

Cui made his remarks on Thursday morning during an online interview that was broadcast live via the commission's website.

The commission also plans to open official accounts on weibo, Chinese micro blog site, and on WeChat, a popular real-time communication app, he added.

The commission launched a new website on Sept 2 as part of efforts to increase openness and transparency. The website receives tips about suspected corruption cases and releases information on anti-corruption investigations.
