Caring for special children

China Daily | Updated: 2013-06-11 02:06

Home welcomes help

The Butterfly Home in Changsha, Central China’s Hunan province, is open to the public for those who want to visit and extend their care for the children.

Reservations must be made, preferably three weeks ahead of your visit.

The hospice also welcomes volunteers to assist nannies in taking care of the children.

All volunteers must contribute their service at the hospice for a minimum of once every two months. For those who cannot commit their time, they have to apply each time they want to visit or volunteer.

With the setting up of a new Butterfly Home in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, later this year, more help will be needed, including plumbers, electricians and nutritionists.

The hospice also welcomes financial and material donations such as diapers and formula milk.

The Butterfly Children’s Hospices Foundation Ltd has just been formally approved as a charity in Hong Kong.
