Two farms became the first legal family farms operating commercial projects in the Nanning-ASEAN economic development zone in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

Lu Zhiming, owner of the Gaopo family farm in Nanning, said he has several hectares of longyan and litchi and started a restaurant and family hotel recently. He wants to build up his own brands and boost his family farm business.

The other family farm owner, Liu Chenghai, says he has several hectares of grape, muskmelon, nectarine, orange and mango. He can apply for bank loans after registering to develop his business.

After registering at the local business administration department, family farms can enjoy a series of favorable tax policies to boost their better development.

The official in charge of the Nanning-ASEAN economic development zone indicates about 156 family farms will be registered and develop in the zone.
