A China Eastern plane flying from Kunming to Changsha made an emergency landing at the Changsha Huanghua International Airport in Hunan province on Wednesday morning, the Xiaoxiang Morning Post reported on Thursday.

No passengers were injured.

The landing followed three failed attempts due to mechanical problems with the Boeing 737’s landing gear.

On the same day, passengers onboard another China Eastern plane from Kunming to Singapore were evacuated shortly after they boarded the plane at the Kunming Changshui International Airport in Yunnan province.

A report on yunnan.cn said that smoke was seen coming out of the plane’s tail.

The airline said that a device called an auxiliary power unit was found fuming, but that the device did not catch fire. The plane took off hours later after the problem was cleared. The airline is investigating the incident.
