Wen wishes Islamic summit a success

CAIRO - Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao sent a congratulatory message to the 12th session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation conference upon its opening on Wednesday in Cairo, Egypt.

"On the occasion of the opening of the 12th session of the Islamic Summit Conference, I wish to extend, on behalf of the government of the People's Republic of China and in my own name, warm congratulations to the session," Wen said in the message.

"Both the Chinese people and people of the Islamic countries love peace and long for development. China values its friendly relations with the Islamic countries and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)," the premier said.

"We are ready to work with the Islamic countries and the OIC, in a spirit of equality, mutual trust, inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutually beneficial cooperation, to deepen win-win cooperation, pursue common development and build a harmonious world of enduring peace and common prosperity," he added.

"I wish the session a full success," Wen said.

The two-day Islamic summit starts Wednesday in Cairo with the attendance of 27 heads of states and 29 representatives of OIC members, including Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Turkish President Abdullah Gul.
